   PIECEMAKERS 2008 CALENDAR QUILT     Bridget
“When Our Hearts Were Young and Gay”

Every block on this quilt has a poignant moment in time when people were drawn together.  Building our country into its present state came hard work and helping one another.  Hanging the wash on the clothesline, swimming in a pond, and milking the cows are just a few scenes depicted in this nostalgic quilt.  Class fee includes the calendar and pattern along with fabric for twelve blocks.  The center block will be an optional kit upon request.  Borders and sashing are not included.  Mail order is available.  Credit card must be on file.  10 student minimum.

GENTLE BREEZE      Bridget

Can you almost see the movement of the pinwheels and the coneflowers when a gentle breeze comes along?  You can keep your project small or make the larger quilt, or anything in between.  The relaxing method of hand piecing, applique, and hand quilting makes this piece a total take-a-long project.  The Double Stitch is a warm and primitive stitch, not fine hand quilting stitch.  The framed piece finishes up at 15 ½” square.  Enjoy this wonderful stitch!  Pattern purchase is required.

GARDEN TWIST     Yvonna

Everyone loves this quilt, so here is the class once again.  This great quilt is a variation of Around-the Twist pattern.  Here a large floral is used for background to create a beautiful garden trellis effect.  (The large, open areas are perfect for other large, non-floral prints.)  A variation from the pattern in the construction of the Twist blocks make this quilt easier to sew together.  In the first session, we’ll learn some tricks for cutting fabric, sewing, and pressing.  In the second session, we’ll lay out our blocks for setting and sewing and we’ll discuss how to put on borders.  This quilt is awesome!  Pattern purchase required.
